A friend just brought back a bottle of Sh?ch? which I adore and prefer to sake. Hard to describe but a sweet starch; may remind one of Ramen. I cannot name this one yet but I had Satsuma. I also have Grappa con Mirtillo (blueberrys), a double rum from Slovenia (exceedingly strong), a couple of empty bottles of cognac and a bulgarian rakia (I love the sweet ones).

I tend to pick things up when I travel so what augents your whisky cabinate?

@Donough well I have a bottle of brandy and one of vodka (a gift from Ukraina) plus several liqueurs amari, limoncello (I live in Sicily) and grappa...my father used to work in a megastore, so we had a huge cabinet, but I literally destroyed it with the help of a few friends in one of my youthful supid summers...now I have to say that my regular drink is a malt whisky, I try not to exceed the recommended daily amount so my glass it's too small to indulge on other drinks...

Before I started drinking whisky I drank mostly cognac. I have 8 or so bottles of that. Gin and tonics are always a staple so I always keep some tanqueray 10 and bombay saphire around. I have a few types of vodka but thats mostly for others. Don Julio for for margaritas, some rum, some mixers/liqueurs and whatever.... a bottle of madeira. thats all I can think of off hand.

Some gin, vodka, a couple types of rum and cognac. Whisky is my primary drink too, but I want to have a well rounded liquor cabinet eventually.

Everything from Delamain. My go-to cognac is their Tres Venerable. For special occasions the Hennessey Paradis is great. Hendricks, Tanqueray, and Bombay Sapphire for gins. Grey Goose, 42Below for vodkas.

There are a few other spirits in the cabinet, but those are mostly for visiting friends and family. But they're hardly moving at all. Visiting my house practically means drinking either whisky or wine (my wife's wine cellar... don't get me started! That, of course, is why she indulges me with my 200+ bottles of Scotch).

My go to drink is always whisky, but I have around 18 bottles of other various alcohols. Like @markjedi1 they're mostly for friends and family. I really do enjoy brandy and port though.

I have three bottles of cognac aside from the scotch : ) I'll probably add an Armagnac and a Plantation Rum at some point as well.

Thanks for the replies. Whisky is my go to as well. I tend to do a fair bit of traveling and when combined with my housemate, we could be hitting 5-15 countires a year. I tend to pick up the local grog. I have 2 cognacs; Remy Martin XO and Grand Breuil XO. Polish old Krupnik which is a honey liquor. Various other empty bottles.

There is a variety in my cabinet: gins, rums, vodkas, tequilas, brandies, cognac, and liqueurs. The biggest surprise was in finding some tequilas that I really like to sip.

I do like rum and tequila. I have a El Dorado 12 yo (Demerara Pot Still) and Barbancourt 8 yo (5 star). Tequila 1921 Anejo Reserva Especial. All very good.

@JoeVelo and @Donough, I would like to try your Tequila 1921 Anejo. Among tequilas, I like Chinaco, Casa Noble, El Jimador, and Don Julio. (all anejo, preferably). Of course there are about 1,000 tequilas that I have yet to try!

@Donough and @Victor The Tequila is absolutely delicious but not as addictive as a single malt.

My wife and I are looking to build up a bit of a mini-bar, so the stock will grow, but currently Gilbey's and Junipero are the gins available. Some Meagher's Triple Sec, Bailey's and Luxardo amaretto are also in the cabinet. Luxardo I find preferable to Disarono as Luxardo is not as sweet (this, to my understanding, is because Luxardo uses 100% almonds, while Disarono also uses peach pits to sweeten their version). My wife and I also have a decent gathering of wines (we don't "collect", just buy many at once to drink over time), mainly from Ontario.
