Ottawa, Ontario and Area Members?

@YakLord I'm located in Ottawa. Are you familiar with the High Liner? It's located on Rideau and has a excellent selection of single malts. They also hold a tasting 3rd Sunday of every month. If you haven't been there, you should drop in. Staff is very knowledgeable.

@PeterG7 - walk by the Highlander pretty much every day...and have looked at their selection online, but I've yet to actually go into the pub and sit down and have a drink...Sundays are always busy, but I've been meaning to try and get down to one of their tastings...maybe October or November...

I am moving to Otawa come September - would be interested to meet some Ottawa area members. Hopefully it won't take too long to find some whisky friends - keep me in the loop.

Diefenbunker Whisky Tasting Fundraiser - November 29th - www.facebook.com/events/284890525029515/ We're trying to get enough people for a table again this year.

There's also Whisky Ottawa (www.whiskeyottawa.ca) coming up on Oct 4th...I can't go as it conflicts with another committment, but it would interesting to hear back from anyone that does manage to get there.

@YakLord I will get back to you on the fundraiser...I likely won't know if that will work for me until the start of October - but I am interested. I may end up at the Whiskey Ottawa Event...but we'll see. Those things, I find, can be expensive for what you get - so I try to pick them carefully.

@JasonHambrey - I looked at the ticket prices for Whisky Ottawa and just couldn't justify it (even if it hadn't conflicted with other committments)...the Kingston Whisky Festival was significatnly cheaper...even when you factor in fuel costs.
