@lmann86, I don't know where your neck of the woods is, but I need to visit and do some whisky shopping. Your prices are around $50-$125 LESS than the bigger volume stores in CA. eg. Tali25 runs $250.

@Peatpete, Glenkinchie 20YR is very good. It usually runs $130-$180usd. Also, if you can find it, the 1972 Glengoyne by Perfect Dram was quite good. I think my bottle cost around $150 last year.

But yes, I live right outside Stl. There are a few places where prices are VERY good for scotch!

I am in rural Alberta, Canada... 12 hours drive from the closest good whisky supplier, and the prices there seem to be considerably higher than the figures you are mentioning... They are currently sold out of Talisker 25, but their site lists it at $280...

@lmann86, I NEVER trust anything on ebay. The things crooks can do to fake things is amazing.

@whiskyshiba, Try the Warehouse in NYC Manhattan, they have Talisker 25 for $100(after tax).

@DevD, That's a steal. But not a fan of the Tali25. I'd rather have the Tali18. Now the Talisker 20YR 1981, that's a different story. One of the best.

I think the Dalmore 21 is going for around ~$120. Though it's not easy to find as it's discontinued.

@DevD : I did, in March. The liquor store had 3 bottles left (Super Liquor IV, Ann Arbor, MI). www.yelp.com/biz/super-liquor-iv-ann-arbor

I realized the other day that of the respectable, if not impressive, number of bottles that have passed thru my cabinet, none have ever been older than 18 years. I have been convinced that age and quality are far from the same thing, but I am still curious at this stage to try an expression or two that have a few more years under their belts... Unfortunatly I am generaly on a fairly tight budget, and am rarely in a position to spend much more than $125 to $150 for a bottle.
Can anyone suggest any slightly more aged Whiskies that are worth drinking, and that fall in or near that price range?
