R and B distillers have brought us an extremely interesting whisky.. “While we wait” is a lightly peated expression made up from non peated and peated whisky before being finished in Tuscan red wine casks sourced from 3 different vineyards that have produced Cabernet Savignon and Cabernet franc wine… It is NCF and bottled at 46%abv.. image Nose.. The nose is fresh and fruity, red grape and berries along with cherries and a subtle floral hint, a hit of liquorice and subtle almost invisible smoke rises up.

Palate.. As soon as the liquid hits the mouth you sense that smoke and peat flavour, orange peel and a sugared almond note fight their way through before some spices in the form of cinnamon and ginger come out to play. The berries and grape from the nose are ever present along with some natural sweetness..

Finish.. A medium sweet finish with a dry mouth feel.

Thoughts.. This is an extremely interesting and enjoyable whisky, a little harsh in places but I’m sure that is down to it been a young whisky. Quite well balanced with lovely notes. ocdwhisky.wordpress.com
