Recommendations £60-£80

Decided to take a step up from the whiskies currently occupying my cabinet into the £60 to £80 bracket. Since joining this web site I have discovered and enjoyed Glengoyne, Auchentoshan, Macallen and Glenlivit and disliked Bowmore and Tallisker. Any recommendations for the next first purchase on my step up the whisky ladder?? Cheers.

Not sure what current pricings are in UK but why not venture into American Whiskeys...

George T Stagg is excellent and if its too pricey then Eagle Rare 17 is great too.

Glenrothes 1985/2005 is a personal favourite of mine mate and should be right up your street, going by what you say you like. Theres lots of reviews online, including a few on here you should take a look at. Maybe you could also try some older expressions of the ones you like such as aberlour 18 and glengoyne 17, both top notch drams with noticable improvements to the younger versions -although just short of £60. A few more to consider in your price range, Glenfarclas 17, Amrut Intermidiate Sherry (another personal fave), and maybe a quality, aged blended speyside malt for good measure, Blue hanger 4th and 5th releases are good examples of this. Happy shopping.....
