Haven't heard from you in a while @jeanluc - what whiskies have you been enjoying lately?

Maintenance is now complete and you should start seeing the enabled site again shortly, some areas make take longer for the network settings to update.

Hey @Nozinan, I've been making an effort finish up open bottles in my cabinet rather than buying new stuff. I found a bottle of BNJ recently (remember that?), I'd forgotten how good it was. Shame they discontinued it! How about yourself?

@jeanluc I've had a cold all week so nothing since my Uncle and I shared some Balvenie 14 YO Caribbean cask.
I would very much like to try some BNJ before I die.
Over the coming month with March Break and very little call, I hope to make a little headway on some reviews I've been meaning to write, and maybe free up a few sample bottles.

We're still working on optimising the new server, apologies if the service has been slow today. It should settle down now. JL

BNJ? The thin-textured nectar of the Gods! @Nozinan, it may be years before I open it, but I do own a bottle of it. I wish I owned 5 bottles of BNJ. It is one of my most treasured whisky possessions. My thanks to @Maltster, who was so kind as to give me a bottle of BNJ from his Vienna stash 5 or 6 years ago. It was very hard to get even then.
For noobies, BNJ = The Bailie Nicol Jarvie, a character from Rob Roy by Sir Walter Scott. The whisky was a blended Scotch made by Glenmorangie, with about 60% malt content. It is extremely tart lemon citrusy, in a magnificent way.

A memorable bottle of BNJ kept me company over a couple weeks in 2010 from Oxford to Liverpool to Edinburgh through the highlands to Skye! I think it was toast by the time we got to Islay.
Would I buy another bottle of that if it popped up? Sure. Would I relive that experience of drinking my first one? HELL YES.

Yes, a very fresh, light, zippy, refreshing whisky, as I recall.

@jeanluc The "image up load" function on the "My Cabinet" seems to not be working, following the schedules maintenance. I tried from both a smartphone and a desktop computer without success.

Apologies for the downtime this afternoon. We've had a few teething problems with the new server but have had an engineer in to do some fine tuning today.

@jeanluc When you get a chance please look into the image up load issue. It seems to have come back since the tweak to the new server. Thanks in advance.

@fiddich1980 thanks for the note I will investigate this on Monday morning UK time. The previous fix may have rolled back for some reason.

@jeanluc I second what @fiddich1980 said. Seems to be an issue again. My "generic" connosr images aren't loading either.

@jeanluc thanks for your attention on this. I tried uploading a photo on my review as well (MacBook and iPhone attempts) if this helps.

Investigation is ongoing with this issue, please bear with us. It seems that some software packages – relating to images and image uploads – have been disabled on the server. I will update as soon as I have more.

@jeanluc Wasn't there a story about a man given three wishes....he wished for a bottle of scotch that would never empty. When he tasted it, he wished for 2 more!

Good afternoon! Server maintenance is scheduled for Thursday 7th March at 12pm UTC and there may be some downtime experienced. All being well the interruption should be kept to a minimum. Thank you :)
