Oh, look, the boys and girls from Liquid Art have selected their next cask and this time it is one from the Highlands. And while they are not at liberty to divulge whence it came, I can tell you that the Brora Golf Club is just a 20 minute stroll away from the warehouse where this cask was laid down.

Quince, Granny Smith, green banana, meringue, sour gooseberries and lots of beeswax. That’s the nose of this Highlander in a nutshell. Then some marzipan, nougat and raw rhubarb join the fray. A Brussels waffle with whipped cream! Nice nose.

Ah, on the palate it is nicely sweet, somewhat piquant on cardamom, salt & pepper and some garden herbs, while a nice trace of smoke appears, completely wrapping the white fruit. For a second there, some citrus fruit appears. Nicely waxy as you can expect from Clyne… err… this secret Highlander.

The finish is long, feisty and nicely balanced.

And to think that this might have been blended away into Johnnie Walker Gold Label… luckily Liquid Art got their hands on it first. Tasty!
