Finally! We have searched for a long time for a cask of this Highlander and finally we have one that made us fall head over heels in love. But... no, we are not allowed to say the name of this distillery out loud... Ah, you'll find out for yourself, surely? The first release in our brand-new Black & White Series will be labeled with photos taken by Dearly Beloved during our trip to Scotland in September 2022. And yes, this distillery was on our program at the time. Double the fun, then.

The nose is wonderfully waxy on meringue, hazelnuts, and gooseberries. Some Granny Smith and green banana in the mix, late quince, and raw rhubarb. Hint of buttermilk, mint, and anise... Young and powerful.

On the palate it is a delicate mix of white fruit and nougat, applesauce and chamomile tea. Some grapefruit, woodsmoke and a salty edge. Bergamot oil and beeswax. Yes, nice, and waxy. Hurrah!

The finish is pleasantly long on beeswax, lime and candied apricot.

Good things come to those who wait, it is sometimes said. Quel délice, the French would say. And if you say this with a hot potato in your mouth, you’ll realize where this malt comes from. This was on our bucket list for a very long time. Glad we can finally share it with you.
