Another Secret Speyside from The Whisky Jury, but here we can't deduce anything else from the label (the previous one was very clear, right?). The refill barrel yielded no less than 263 bottles, which seems to me to be a considerable number after thirty years. Let's see if I can taste where it comes from. I have no doubt that it’s going to be nice. Joeri has never disappointed us.

Apple fritters, banana, lemongrass, chamomile tea, mokatine, apricot pastry and just a sigh of oak, so that the distillate of this Speysider can show itself to the fullest. Very bright, if you know what I mean. A tad sweet and a little floral. It's like a distinguished lady that looks ten years younger than her actual age.

On the palate it is nice and round, creamy, sweet and soft with only a touch of spiciness and in addition to the very sweet fruit that I also had on the nose, a small bitterness like grapefruit. Juicy peaches make their appearance, as does some vanilla, subtle and nuanced. A sniper, though!

The finish is medium-long, sweet and very satisfying. Hint of mint on the deathbed.

You really have to sit down for this. If you put this very drinkable whisky on the table, you could just ignore its complexity and that would be a shame. It seems that the reverend of Rothes Kirk is also very keen on this...
