Server failure and missing content

We experienced some issues with our server today and unfortunately our hosting company had to restore the server (including the database) using a backup from 2 days ago.

This is extremely frustrating for us and I can only apologise for the disruption caused to our members. Sadly it does mean that posts, reviews and messages from over the weekend have been lost.

We have a completely new server infrastructure in place for the new version of Connosr which is in the final stages of development.

Once again I'm very sorry for this inconvenience caused by the server failure this weekend.

Since you brought it up, any ETA on the new site? This year? By summer next year? Just curious.

I actually like the site the way it is. Any improvements would just be a big fat bonus.

But I think it's important to point out the significance of this server failure. Not as a criticism, but as an observation.

Connosr has brought together people from all over the world. We use it as a means to keep in touch with like-minded people, and in some cases it is our only point of contact with people, some of whom have become friends. When it goes down, it can be a big deal for those small interpersonal connections.

I don't know what the original intention was for this site Jean-Luc, but whatever its shortcomings, I think you've built something really special here.
