Springbank 12 Cask Strength Problems?

So, I went to my local shop and they had just received a shipment of Springbank 12 year CS. I was pretty stoked because I am a fan of the Springbanks I've tried so far....which are the Longrow CV and the Springbank 10. I always loved how those bottlings have a bit of a strawberry cola thing going on, totally unique character. So there i was getting all stoked up about how awesome the CS was going to be and then I uncorked it and poured it in my glass....then i started getting bummed... I could smell all those characters but they were hiding WAY WAY behind the aroma of acidic marshmallows or something like that. Super strange...it smelled very similar to the Bunnahabhain 12 I have had open for a while now and have not really drank a lot of. Is this normal? I didn't even finish the dram. I thought perhaps the strength had something to do with it so I added a bit of water and capped it while coming back to it every hour or so to nose it. It never really managed to do it for me. THIS WHISKY IS FUCKING WITH ME! So sad. Is there something wrong with the bottling? Anyone tried it recently?

Also...i think i got a "corked" bottle of Glenfarclas 12...tastes like chlorine. It was either corked or tainted. Fucking horrible. Real shame considering it was my first farclas.

Anyone care to chime in on Either?

Each Springbank 12 CS batch seems to have a different ABV - what is yours? My bottle is 55.3%. Nothing "off" in it except for a bit of sour/bitter on the finish. I only tasted Bunna 12 once, a while ago, but both are "coastal" sherry cask scotch... maybe this just isn't your profile.

Mine is ok, opened recently. Typical Springbank character. Very nice and full flavor
