Nose: Sour caramel; old library books; vintage car seat leather; slight sulfur.

Palate: A touch of peat and smoke; caramel; mouse pelt; alcohol burn; musty curtains.

Finish: Ends brilliantly with bright salty caramel that opens up nicely.

I like the claret wood better. This batch has gotten a lot of fan fair. It's overrated. I'm not terribly impressed. My notes are an approximation. Don't read too much into them. I am not overly impressed with this bottle.

I should say this has more ash than in 2014. Very ashy.

Sorry that last comment was meant for the Ardbeg 10 but I see now that I already mentioned the ash in my review

Was it the mouse pelt that turned you off?
