I've had my eye on SP18 for quite a while. Strange there are so few reviews on it here. Any other thoughts or tasting notes you can provide?

Thanks for your comment. This Springbank 18yr old was a gift from my stepson, since he was in town this past week I got it out for him to try with me. As to tasting notes I generally keep them short and honest. So I don't have anymore in-depth notes accept to say give this one a try. Thanks again. :)

I have just recently tried both Springbank 15 and 18 year olds. I really liked the 15 year old but the 18 year old didn't live up to my expectations. The 18 year was very light with little body to it whereas the 15 year old was a nice sherry influence and a bit syrupy with smoke. Maybe I got a bad bottle of the 18 year old which can happen but I doubt I would try it again.

@gibbsjim thanks for your comment. Sorry to here that your experience was not a good one. It really does show how broad and diverse the whisky industry is as well as how different individual taste are. Hope you continue to enjoy your whisky journey. :)

Having tried this one several times now, I think it was much better than my first impression of it. I liked the smoke in it and it seemed to have a bit more body. I still liked the 15 year old Springbank better but that's just a personal opinion. I liked their Claret Wood a lot too. Each was great in its own way.
