No St. Patrick's Day celebration here...we're celebrating St. Clynelish's Day tonight (March 16), with a Clynelish 14, the remnants of the Clynelish 1993/2010 Distiller's Edition from last year's event, and whatever other whiskies people bring over! Plus lots of bread and cheese!

Tonight I'm at home catching up on work, but enjoying some Bushmills 16 and Green Spot. Tomorrow afternoon, an impromptu whiskey tasting with some friends, including Irish whiskies and a few others, I am sure!

@talexander, @whiskyjourney, and @maltymatt: Those sound like good ideas. While I was at the local bottle shop I also acquired a sixer of Smithwicks. I might have to make some black and tans tomorrow night too. I can't wait..

Goin to an old style pub with the little lady. I plan on ordering a glass of Ledaig 10, Tobermory 10, and Springbank 10. I might even order a Hazelburn 12, as well.
I'm especially keen to try the Ledaig 10. I've heard it's a very strange dram indeed. I will be sure to get the non-chill filtered version. I have a bottle of Longrow CV in my safe that I'm waiting to open. I've heard it's a more "civilized" version of the Ledaig. This should be fun. . . .
I won't be ordering any Irish whisky. I don't like it much. I do, however, enthusiastically appreciate Harp, Guinness, and Murphy's. At the very least, I will be drinking a black n tan and toasting the "luck o the Irish." God bless em all.

@rigmorole I have also heard Ledaig 10 is quite the unique dram. Sounds like a great plan, I too love Guinness or any stout for that matter

@GotOak91 - It was rather interesting...a whole boatload of other whiskies showed up, including some Irish ones. We started with the Clynelish 14 and the Clynelish 1993/2010 DE, and then worked our way through the Compass Box Great King Street Artist's Blend and Peat Monster, the new Tullibardine 'NAS' Port Finish (12 months in port pipes, but aged how long before that?), Macallan 12, Dalwhinnie 15, Glenlivet 15 French Oak Reserve, Lagavulin 16, and then Locke's 8 (Pot Still, Irish Single Malt...it was terrible), and Connemara Turf Mor (which was not as peaty as I'd expected).

No celebration (too much house work / chores etc) - but I did just have a before bed dram of Old Pulteney 12 / Bailie Nicol Jarvie 50:50 which was delicious. Sadly no Irish whiskey in the house. Hope you all had a better one.

Yesterday it was 35*C in Brisbane and today the forecast is for not much cooler: 'Have a little Peated Cask Connemara left but, really, hot Whisky is no fun, so probably some Guiness (the imported one) and if I'm 'out and about', perhaps a pint of Green Beer - That's a pretty good 'perhaps', I walk past an Irish Pub (the local version)!
