Hints of 'matchstick' or 'gunpowder' is one thing, can be fine in the right whisky, but the full on boiled egg aroma is a no no for me.

I've become increasingly sensitive to sulphur. It didn't bother me that much in the past but I find it quite hard to tolerate now.

I've noticed that whisky with a hint of sulphur often improves after allowing it to breath. Also adding a little water helps. Some whiskies are beyond helping though.

I find that noticeable sulphur will usually ruin my enjoyment of a whisky.

This was covered a little while back with a really interesting thread and an article then produced by SMWS which was a good read also :-)
