For sheer tropicality, I would recommend the humble Glenmorangie 10. It always reminds me of guanabana fruit.

I finally finished the dram of Amrut CS I started early last week, and I think I noted hints of pineapple in it. Though, in principle, I don't recommend pouring and. Drinking the same dram over 10 days...

I've been thinking of picking up a bottle of Glen Moray Chardonnay Matured for this exact purpose.

To add...
Glenmorangie 10 yr, or my favorite Nectar'Dor.
Ancnoc 12 yr, and Scapa 16 yr is nice as well.

Compass Box Spice Tree, Brenne (a French Single Malt that is bottled and distributed by Alison Patel in New York, so it might be hard to find, depending on where you are), or if you're feeling really decadent, the Glenfiddich 21yr Gran Reserva Rum Cask Finish.

Thanx for the replies. I could also add and recommend Kilchoman Machir Bay, Ledaig 15, Bruichladdich Islay Barley, Nikka Yoichi NAS and Glendronach 12 or Bourbon Cask.

There are a lot of light and summery whiskies out there. This discussion topic has been done previously on Connosr also. Compass Box Asyla or Great King Street would work well, as would light bourbons like Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star or Evan Williams Single Barrel. Dalwhinnie 15, Auchentoshan almost anything (if you like it), and blends like Johnnie Walker Gold (18 yo preferred) of Bailie Nicol Jarvie are very nice.

The 'laddie classic' went well yesterday on a summer's eve...

I would say that @FMichael is right on with AnCnoc 12yr and Glenmo 10yr old. @Victor's recommendation of Dalwhinnie 15yr old. I would also include Op12yr and Aberfeldy 12yr old. Hope this was helpful. (:

Ancnoc 12 yr, Scapa 16 yr and Inchgower 14 Year Old - Flora and Fauna are great for the summer.

Bump...
Picked up a bottle of the Macallan 10 yr Fine Oak...Very nice flavor which reminds me of the Ancnoc 12 yr...Mind you it's nothing outstanding (but IMHO better than the run of the mill Glenlivet 12 yr, Glenfiddich 12 yr, and Balvenie 12 yr Double Wood), but a very good summer single malt that will now be a regular on my shelf.

Hey there! Im looking for summery single malts with tropical notes and/or a sunny character for a tasting in the hotter months. Any suggestions?
