Tamdhu recently closed doors. Edrington Group blames the bad economic situation. It used to deliver a part of The Famous Grouse, Dunhill (currently popular in the US), J&B and Cutty Sark. Single malts from this Speysider are few and far between. This is their most recent bottling.

The nose is flowery and spicy with a whiff of smoke. I get some vanilla, nutty oil and honey. But the whole is very light.

On the palate it’s sweet, but harmless and unspectacular. Slightly bitter (walnuts), mixed with pear and caramel.

The finish is rather short on oak and caramel.

This is a typical before-dinner-dram, with slightly more punch than the NAS-version. This one is more interesting.
