This single cask was selected by Stefan van der Boog of Passion For Whisky. It is a Teeling from 2008 that got a finish on – drum roll – a Bodega Ximenez Spinola PX Sherry Cask. That's a mouthful, just like the bronze malt I taste now.

Surprisingly fresh nose on crispy apples, hazelnuts, rum soaked raisins, gingerbread and roasted chestnuts. Hint of mashed banana. Less 'dark' than I expected, but very tasty and inviting.

Blissful body! Nicely mouth filling, almost creamy, but immediately quite spicy. Think cloves, nutmeg and chili pepper. Once the salivary glands have extinguished the fire, my taste buds are delighted with dried red fruit, poached pear and origin chocolate. A lot 'darker' than the nose. But also a big kick against the teeth.

The finish is nice and long on chocolate and caramel... and not a little bit! It does die a drying death that becomes a little bitter.

We know that Stefan and his companions have a passion for good stuff. This fits perfectly in the list of their releases. Sample, as always, received from Benny J, thanks for that!
