Only 300 bottles of this 18 years old Teeling have been released. It is a single cask. The malt from Teeling received a finish on a marsala cask. I predict that this will be very good. It was bottled in honor of the 5th birthday of the distillery. You've guessed it: this was not distilled by Teeling, but is old stocks from their predecessor Cooley. I could care less.

Excellent nose that at first reminds me immediately of Christmas. Pine cones, ferns, red fruit, lots of vanilla and dark honey, a hint of gummy candy, Rucola cough bonbons, bubblegum with strawberry taste and almond paste. Excellent!

Oily on the palate. Immediately dark and sweet and fruity – strawberries, raspberries, banana, baked apples, the works – upholstered with sturdy spices. Cloves, nutmeg, chili pepper and cinnamon. Sturdy fellow indeed. And so good!

In the long finish the fruit evolves towards the dried and candied variety, while the spices keep your mouth very warm.

Fantastic Teeling that profits from the marsala cask. Now who provided me with this wonderful sample, do you think? Benny of course. Thanks again!
