This is a slightly older release because it was bottled in 2015, the year the Teeling Distillery in Dublin became operational. So it is inevitable that this is old Cooley stock. It is a single cask and also a rum barrel. In the meantime nowhere to be found, but good old Benny provided me with a sample again.

Beautiful, aromatic nose on exotic fruit, brown sugar and milk chocolate. If you let it breathe for a while, you can even distinguish the fruit neatly: banana, pineapple, orange and Reine Claude plums. Very nice.

The alcohol can certainly be felt on the tongue and makes this whiskey quite spicy. Quite a few wood herbs are noticed before the delicious, tropical fruit in full regalia starts to shine. And it really does. This is a delicious fruit bomb supplemented with a nice sweet note of brown sugar. Feel free to make that candied sugar. The rum barrel has done its job, without overwhelming the whiskey. Absolutely delicious.

Fantastically long and very rich finish, which ends in a very sweet but dry climax.

Deliciously exotic Teeling. One of the best I have already tasted from them. Thanks, Benny.
