Just like the Teeling Barleywine this Plantation Rum is also part of the Small Batch Collaboration series. No less than 12.000 bottles were released. We know Plantation as quite a tropical rum, so I expect this to be a fruit bomb.

Yes! The classical traits of the house are present on the nose: apples, pears, raisins and cherries. But this is supported by a lot of tropical fruit like pineapple, mango and banana. After some air I even get some coconut and starfruit. Also some burnt caramel – no, make that candied sugar. Nice!

Good body, almost syrupy. Full and fruity on pear, apple and banana. Hint of pineapple. But it’s the cherries that take top prize. It dances on the palate with some ginger and nutmeg, white pepper and coriander. Fresh, fruity, fine!

Surprisingly long finish on both yellow and white fruit with some pepper.

Not earth-shattering, but much better than the Barleywine if you ask me. But then I do have a sweet tooth. Thanks, Manny.
