The Royal Oak Distillery was formerly known as Walsh Whiskey Distillery, named after the owner of, among other things, the popular The Irishman. After moving to Royal Oak, the distillery was renamed to where it is located now. And now they market their own products under the name The Busker. Currently the range consists of 4 bottles: Single Grain, Single Malt, Single Pot Still and this Triple Cask Triple Smooth which is blend. The Triple Cask refers to the fact that this blend consists of malt, pot still and grain that matured in three different barrels: bourbon, sherry and marsala.

Soft nose on a warm stew of yellow fruit. The typical sweet notes of single grain are nicely complemented here by the layered, darker notes of the malt. Banana, chocolate, hazelnuts, vanilla and a slightly tropical hint. That's great.

The body is unfortunately a bit on the light side. Nevertheless, a nice panoply of flavors: sweet malt, spicy grain on banana, vanilla and caramel. Not big, it's true, but on the other hand quite tasty with enough 'weight', if you know what I mean.

The finish is relatively short with some oak and cinnamon on the deathbed.

Promising nose, but a bit too light on taste. That being said: a bottle costs 25 EUR. Thx, Benny!
