Undrinkable whisky. It was bound to happen. It's happened to me. A single cask Highland Park from Signatory broke my heart. It has so much sulphur that I can't focus on any other favors. Anyway, forcing myself to drink it seems like punishment. For those of you who have had this misfortune, what do you do with those bottles that you never want to drink?

Havent had that happen yet, but when I do I will put a label on the bottle saying "FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT SCOTCH AND COKE" ad just save it for unappreciative visitors

Do you have an alcohol burning lamp handy. Burn it while drinking your favorite dram under the moonlight while writing its review here. And if you like, add the company of your scotch and coke drinking friend. : )

I really hope this never happens to me. Good luck to you, honestly I would save it and leave it oven for a few hours here and there and wait to see if the flavor profile changes, or you can burn it. Keep us posted. I hate to ask but, what was it?

@Dellnola, Give the bottle a second chance: Put it in a large decanter, shake the decanter violently, remove stopper and leave in an airy place for a couple of days. I'm not sure how this will work with Whisky but it may. It certainly works with some of the heavily sulphured old wines especially those gems from the Hunter Valley from the late 40's through late 60's. The sulphur was used to insulate the wine from oxidization and quickly dispersed on opening.

I'm not sure how this will work with Whisky but you haven't got anything to lose and just maybe...

Heavily sulphured Wines suffered no residual taint once the sulphur had dissipated.

Good Luck.

@Rex-Alban Ever since I first saw that Ralphy I have been tempted to buy a cheap and nasty whisky, just to try these suggestions out.
