If we are keeping clear of highly priced or hard to find malts then Uigeadail has to be a contender here as do the Distillers Edition of both Lagavulin and Talisker.

I would totally agree with you on the Uigeadail. Its in my top three right now. Ardbeg is putting out some really great stuff.

Any of you have tasted the Ardberg Airigh Nam Beist ? I think it comes from sherry casks of 1990 vintage.
The only one I tried is Uigeadail and it is excellent.
I know there is some sherry finish in a peaty bunnahabhain from independent bottling, but it may be hard to find.

For me, it's the Lagavulin Distillers Edition and the Talisker Distillers Edition a close second. I did enjoy the Uigeadail as well though. (I think I may need to go and buy all 3 again so I have them at the same time and do a taste test...) As for the Nam Biest, I have tried it twice at SMWS tasting events and did not like it either time, but I have never owned it.

@bwmccoy I like the Talisker Distiller's Edition also. Have yet to try the Lagavulin. Maybe a future bottle!

Mine goes to Lagavulin Distillers Edition too ... I got a bottle last Christmas and it didn't last very long . I'd buy it more often, but sadly, it's not cheap....

Airigh Nam Beist was from Bourbon casks and was one of my preferred Ardbegs but perhaps isn’t appropriate here.

I personally don't think Ardbeg + sherry are a good match. Better look at Laphroaig (Triple Wood or recent independent bottlings matured in sherry casks) or indeed the Distiller's Editions of Talisker and Lagavulin. The recent Ledaig 5yo by Berry Bros is nice as well.

I found a 13 year-old Bowmore, bottled at ~55% ABV and sherry cask finished, to be quite lovely. It's a hard one to find, though.

Which dram do you think is the perfect blend of Sherry and Peat? FYI I am a HUGE Ardbeg fan.
