This is one of The Wine Society's own-label blended whiskies. Despite some research and wheedling, I'm not at all sure where they're sourcing from, beyond the comments that it's 100% highlands distilleries. While

Colour: Very light, reminiscent of a golden Sauterne.

Nose: Lemon zest, grass, peat, saltwater spray. Beautifully light, it comes up to kiss your nose with wisps of smoke without being at all overpowering.

Taste: A light savoury flavour with peat and hints of rosewater. This isn't a sweet or rich whisky, but rather cuts through with beautifully clean flavours.

Finish: Gooseberries, along with an almost effervescent burst of flowers right at the end.

For £20, this blend is by far the best quality in its price range. At double the price, it would be a low-average pour, but at this price it has a guaranteed place on my shelf.
