On 22nd November 1996, this Tomatin was distilled. It matured on ex-bourbon casks and got finished on first fill oloroso sherry casks. Only two of those butts were bottled, yielding only 1.500 bottles of this wonderfully bronze 30 Year Old.

The nose offers new leather, oranges, cloves, white chocolate and - unexpected but not unpleasant - a whiff of brine.

The palate is dominated by oranges on allspice.

The finish is not as long as I would have hoped, but lingering.

This is a very good whisky indeed.
