I already tasted this Tomatin during Spirits in the Box, the online version of the festival Spirits in the Sky in November 2020. It is a happy reunion, I can tell you that. The nose is, as expected, very fruity. I get banana and apricots, but also something from cake. A little baby-breath (you know, the smell of a burp right after the fruit porridge). An herbal touch of green garden herbs (and even some spinach in the background). A lot of honey and a soft simmering jar of apple sauce. Complex is the word you are looking for. Great body. Nice fruit bomb. In addition to the apricots, banana and apples also some boiled orange jam, mocha and caramelized pineapple. Mocha? He suddenly becomes a bit sweet and boozy, if you know what I mean. Good stuff, indeed. The finish is long, sweet and sour and goes on the tropical tour. The oak provides a spicy end station. Excellent. This makes me a bit happy (despite the relatively heavy price tag of 200EUR). Thank you, Ivan, for the sample.
