Top Ten List

Two possibilities here:

What's the Top Ten List of your favorite whiskies? What are the Top Ten highest rated whiskies on Whisky Connosr?

I've been trying to figure out what are the highest rated whiskies on this website. So far, I haven't been able to figure it out. I'm thinking more in terms of whiskies that can still be bought, rather than really good ones that are no longer available.

@CanadianNinja

Great thread. I would answer this a little differently than say, listing my favorites. For example due to their price, JW Black and Grants Family Reserve are two of my favorites. Making a list of my top ten however, still taking into account availability but not concerned with price...

Bunnahabhain 18 Lagavulin 16 Yamazaki 18 Hibiki 21 Laphroaig 18 Talisker 18 Kirin's Fuji Sanroku single malt 18 Suntory Royal 15 Ardbeg Uigeadail Bushmills 21 Madeira

In no particular order.

@rigmorole Have you seen this page? www.connosr.com/popular/highest-rated/

You can filter out the "rare" or unavailable bottlings by eye. Most of the top ten seem reasonably available (note I did not say affordable!), at a quick glance.

@systemdown Thanks for the link! I am new here and can't seem to find how to access that list from the main site. When I go to Reviews pull-down, it only provides me with the whiskies that have been most often reviewed. Could you help me out so that I don't have to come back to this discussion to access the highest rated list? Thanks!

@rigmorole @WhiskyBee @Krau - List can also be accessed via top menu at any time: Whiskies -> Popular

Then sort by whatever criteria you like.

My personal top 10 at this point is:

Abbey Whisky Secret Speyside 40 yr old (last batch, not their current one) Abbey Whisky Rare Casks: Caperdonich 17 yr old Talisker 10 yr old Talisker 18 yr old Ardbeg Galileo Ardbeg Uigeadail Ardbeg Corryvreckan Tobermory 15 yr old George T Stagg Thomas H Handy

However I'd be hard pressed to select in what order they belong. So many very awesome whiskies! However on this list I've only included bottles that I know still exist as there are several other distillery bottlings that I love, but I'm fairly sure they're no longer around (Limeburners specifically)

My top ten, which is severely limited by the number of whiskies I've tried (which is probably around 30):

My top 10 whiskies that can still be bought: Glenfarclas 40, Talisker 18, Lagavulin 16, Blanton's Straight from the Barrel, High West Campfire, Glenfarclas 105, Springbank 18, Ardbeg Corryvreckan, Ardbeg Uigeadail, Jameson Select Reserve Small Batch

Not including Abraham Bowman, CB Flaming Heart, BTAC releases, Pappy, Balvenie Tun 1401s, or any of the regular Diageo releases because, though there are regular releases, they sure aren't easy to get (or get easily, or without sometimes breaking the bank).
