This is only my 7th Tormore. It is the new release in the brand new packaging and matured for 16 years on American oak.

The nose bursts with vanilla cookies, chocolate, all kinds of nuts and loads of butterscotch. I am reminded of the Café Noir cookies, actually. Hints of chocolate, gooseberries and apricots. This is rather good.

It is quite light on the palate, but tasty. The fruit turns a bit tropical. Think mango and papaya. The apricots return. Chcolate again. Milkchocolate to be precise. The nuts join as well. This is a good continuation of the lovely nose.

The finish is long and warming, in which some pepper crops up.

This was a very pleasant surprise indeed (let me confess that the expectations were not that high). Recommended. Thanks, Wim!
