I thought the Tullibardine finished on Sauternes and Moscatel were quite good. This one was finished for 11 months on port pipes. Let’s see how this one fares.

Wonderfully sweet nose on Pink Lady apples, marshmallows and sultanas. A bit of light brown sugar and loads of wild flowers and heather. Hints of white chocolate, filled with raspberry jam and a touch of red wine without becoming sourish. Fine.

It is silky soft on the palate, but still displays a good body. Lightly spices on ginger. Then quite some red berries, chocolate and banana. Some more red wine, becoming louder now, but still within the boundaries of what is acceptable. In fact, it is quite enjoyable.

The finish is long and drying. The oak now speaks. It becomes even a tad loud.

A sweet and sour Tullibardine that does not let you down, except maybe a bit in the finish, that is too dry for me.
