The Belgian bottler Klubb23 bottled this young Tullibardine, aged in a port cask, for Nico Keysers, a biker. The label says it all: One life – Live it! Only 40 bottles were filled. I'm expecting a sweet Tulli given the porto cask, right? Yes, on the nose it is already a party. Chocolate, brown bread, dried figs, wet wool (really) and molded wood. Raspberries in the background. Although, it could also be strawberries in a stew. Rum-raisins! Anyway: I like this; it’s a little dirty. The body is nice and oily and mouth-filling. Sweeter than the nose suggested, though. Now I get a lot of dark fruit in the form of plums, raisins and dates, but also dried fig and caramel. Pear syrup! Nicely seasoned on nutmeg, cloves and some chili pepper. Spicy, but does not need water. A hint of red lace candy completes the picture. Delicious! The finish is long, spicy and warm. And sweet to death. Nice cask selection, though. A bit atypical for a Tulli perhaps, but that just makes it interesting. Thx, Dominic.
