Wemyss Malts Peat Chimney 12 yo

Nose: Fruity with pears and a lot of smoke, some Pepper , sweet peat and spices. Green apples too mix nicely into the mélange. Fruitier than the 8 yo and I think a bit more complex. Palate: Initially very spicy and Smokey with quite some earthy peaty notes. Then getting fruitier with time as the smoke keeps its presence, but plays second violin some Cigar tobacco leaves aromas are also present. Finish : Dry ashtray. Unlit cigar stub. Very long. Ashy and dry.

All in all a solid, very drinkable and fairly complex with the right balance of fruitiness and peaty ashy goodness for those who like the style. Good work.
