West Cork Bourbon Cask

I have not yet tried a lot of whiskey from West Cork and what I have tried so far has been okay-ish at best. I have to confess that for this bourbon cask – a blend by the way – my expectations are low as well.

Closed, but pleasant nose, albeit not very outspoken. Does that make it dull or modest? I only get some apples and lemon juice with a hint of honey.

It is very light on the palate and rather sweet. Apples, honey, oranges and some marzipan. You can taste the grain in the mix very well, which is not an advantage. Unless you love grain. I do love grain, so it's not too bad.

The finish is medium long and as modest as the taste.
