With some encouragement from @BlueNote, here is a discussion that can be used as an on-line spitoon, or as @Victor might call it, a cuspidor.

Cowbell Brewing Co’s Doc Perdue’s Bobcat was not very good. Not was Mill St. Brewing Co’s Tankhouse Ale. Beau’s Wag the Wolf Hopenweisse might be the worst beer I’ve ever tasted. It’s the only beer I’ve ever poured out entirely, after only 3 tiny sips. It was that bad. As far as whisky, I didn’t buy it (thankfully) but I had some McClelland’s Highland Single Malt with a friend of mine that I had to drink like a cowboy (i.e. shooting it without tasting) after the first sip. It was bad. Very bad. I didn’t mind the Speyside so I almost bought the Highland. Glad my friend saved me $45.

Glenfiddich 15 YO Solera. I am just not a fan of the fiddich. I got too caught up with Ralfy's review.

Glen Breton rare 10 YO and ice wine finish. I bought 2 of each when the SWA was suing them, but the SWA lost and those bottles didn't go up in value. I opened one of each, was not impressed, and eventually was saved in a trade with @Nelom, who never told me what he thought of them...

I was the victim of FOMO in a couple of the Forty Creek releases, specifically Evolution, which isn't too bad, but Three grain Harmony was not worth getting many of.

Without a doubt, McClelland's Lowland. This is probably the worst scotch in the universe. Realized it's actually the crap Auchentoshen does want to bottle with their name on it. Absolutely dreadful and possibly toxic. No amount of oxidation can save this abomination . DO NOT BUY!!!

JW Double Black was a bit of a let down. It's drinkable but how it's priced where it is is beyond me! That being said, I'd recommend trying it just for the 'giggles' . . .

Tullamore Dew and Jim Beam white were two others that no amount of air, and even ice, could make palatable.

Sure I got a bad JB bottle as it was like trying to drink wood doused in floor cleaner. Seem to have been pretty lucky with malts but rarely do I buy 'naked' as it were. The odd cheap blend being a let down I can live with.

@Nozinan - I had a bottle of the 'fiddich 15 last xmas and while it wasn't bad, was a bit of a let down. Too much 'virgin' oak for my liking and that more medicinal sherry flavour. Won't be buying again but can see why some would like it I suppose.

It's like some of you have a brain link with me...

from the McClelland's mentions that are young and spirit-y, the JW Double Black with it's young grain content, the one dimensional Glenlivet Master Distiller's Reserve & the 'should be better than this' Glen Grant 10.

What I've bought that has pissed me off is Jameson Caskmates - a mouthful of bitterness and the most disappointing was a Pike Creek NAS finished in port pipes. I had read reviews about the 10 year old and wanted to try it badly. The NAS reached these shores and I enjoyed the first dram as something sweet & different. Then it became an unbearable cloying artificial industrial sweetness.

Although I won't putting any responsbility on Ralfy. However, after watching his Bottled-in-bond American whiskeys review, I decided to try out one of the two he reviewed, the Evan Williams White Label. Luckily, it wasn't too expensive where I got it from. I will admit, I am more of a SMW and SPS whisk(e)y drinker, so maybe it wasn't the best bourbon for me to buy. In the end, I am looking for a frien who wouldn't mind taking it off my hands. HA!
