That's a hard one to pick. It would be a toss up between, Laphroaig 18 year old, Ardbeg Uigeadail, and a bottle of Duncan Taylor Rare Auld Dalmore 20 Year Old (Cask # 4320). The Dalmore is a standout, because it shows how good the spirt is when it isn't buried under sherry, added coloring, or watered down to 40%ABV, and because it's somewhat rare. The Laproaig and Ardbeg sellections are part of their standard ranges, and easy to find.
That being said, if I had to pick one purely on taste, I'd pick the Laphroaig 18, though I suggest following some good advice passed on to me by Victor, who recommended this, "That Laphroaig 18 for me gets even better after the bottle has been open a couple of months. Fantastic!" He was right!

Well… I admittedly haven't experienced many of these higher priced bottles. At the retailer I shop at, Uigeadail, Airigh Nam Beist, and Highland Park 18 are all under $100. My favourite whisky < $100 so far is Ardbeg Corryvreckan, but I don't have a lot to choose from.

Tough call, but it would have to be either Talisker 10, Balvenie 15 or Lagavulin 12. Under $50 is an easy call for me...HP 12.

In the US, the Oban 18 is quite nice. Also on board with the Laphroaig 18. Old Pulteney 17 is lovely, but getting harder (and more expensive) for me to find. Glenmorangie Artein and Sonnalta PX are both excellent and around 85 where I live.

Springbank 10 or Laphraoig QC (so far) - there are lots of good malts in the $60 to $100 range, just not that many under $50...

All these threads do is make me realize how expensive, comparatively, scotch is here...for example, Corryvreckan is over $180. Laphroaig 18 is in the same ballpark. That said, my favs under $100 are HP12, Springbank 12 CS, Amrut, younger Farclas, Abunadh...there may be one or two more which I'm forgetting.
I also got an 18 Signatory Brackla for well under $100 which was a great value.

@MacBaker62 That Dalmore is for sale at the Wine and Cheese Place...is it really THAT good? I've been eyeing it but haven't pulled the trigger!

@lmann86, I think so, but it's not like current Dalmores, with Paterson's heavy sherry influence. If you're looking for the typical Dalmore sherry bomb, this ain't it!
I've always thought the distillery made a good product, but I haven't been a fan of the recent move to lower strengths, excessive use of coloring, and the higher user of sherry casks. The Duncan Taylor bottling is from a single oak cask, so it is more typical of other Highland malts, with the oak vanilla and toffee influence, a little orange citrus tang, and just a hint of peat. If you like Highland region single malts, this is a very good one, and for a 20 year old, it's a bargain at The Wine & Cheese Place for less than $100. I've heard from other people that it costs 20 to 30 dollars more in other parts of the country!

That's an easy one! Aberlour 'a'bunadh'! It costs just over at Au.$104.50 at my local large Liquor Barn. I'm sure it would well within the price range of this discussion in other more realistic markets.
Cheers!

For what I can get here I would have to pick up a bottle of Talisker 10yr around the $80 mark plus 12% in taxes.

I only buy cask strenght bottles, so for me is not so easy to find satisfying whiskies under 100 $ (8590 euros). Beside Nikka from the Barrel (not Scotch I know) and Longmorn 16, I guess my favourite is Ardbeg Uigeadail

Here in BC would have to be Talisker 10 or Sonnalta PX when you can get hold of it. But if you extend to Canadian Whisky then Wisers Legacy at $50 is the stand out bottle for sure.

Well, that would be Talisker 10 or Benriach Curiositas. Any doubt about that.

For a purchase in Ontario, Glenfarclas 15 (recently bumped up $4 to $89) or Abunad'h (@ $95, though I've only tried batch 32 to date) would have to be the winners for me.

@Pudge72...on the peated side, Port Charlotte 'An Turas Mor' ($81 in Ontario, and likely to make my first 'repeat purchase' of a bottle with this one, before it is gone for good...being replaced, iirc, by The Peat Project) and Laphroaig QC ($70).

Liquor is heinously expensive here in BC, so a lot of things other people list are over $100. So for me, I'm going to go with Ardbeg 10 year ($95). Runners up: Glenmorangie Artein (which I believe was $99.99 when it was available -- that one disappeared pretty quick, though) and the always-standby Laphroaig QC at $75.
