What to get next?

It’s time to get a new single malt, but am painstakingly trying to figure out what to buy as I have (for the 1st time ever...) no immediate preference.

What am I missing out on in this list of drams I have owned, in your opinion? Any input is appreciated, but I am looking for smth completely dissimilar to anything I have already had. Budget would be 110$ / 85€

Ardbeg10 ; Lag'DE ; HP18 ; Mac12(Sherry) ; GlenDron15 & 18 ; GlenFarclas15 ; A’bunadh ; Talikser10 ; Oban14 ; Tamdhu 10

I was thinking along the lines of Old Pulteney or a non-smoky dram (Glenmorangie, anCnoc?) Though less obvious suggestions are welcome!

Try something from the Springbank distillery, Balvenie, Glengoyne, Jura, Arran, Bladnoch or Old Pulteney.

For something slightly dissimilar, try some Japanese; Yamazaki 12, Yoichi 15, or even the much cheaper (but excellent) "Nikka from the Barrel" and the Red or Black versions of the Nikka Pure Malt series.

Ever tried a well aged bourbon or rye whiskey? I think its nice to know where the bourbon flavors in Scotch come from. Think of Elijah Craig, Old Potrero, Bulleit Rye, Wild Turkey Rare Breed or even Jack Daniels single barrel if you like it a little sweeter.

I would try to get your hands on an Amrut expression. The Cask Strength comes to mind. Portonova might also be different from what you've had but may be hard to get or by now greater than the price you want to pay.

Springbank 10 with the new white label if you can find it. The white label won't last long. It will go back to the reddish orange soon. Here's my review of it: thewhiskykirk.com/2014/03/…

@Jules - Old Pulteney, Glenmorangie, and anCnoc are all excellent choices. When you crave something smoky again, Ardbeg Uigeadail is a must in every cabinet. If and when you're ready to add a bourbon, Elmer T. Lee would be my suggestion.

For 117.5 USD you can get a bottle of very good scotch, indeed. I recommend Glendronach 17/18 year Olorosso in you want a sherried scotch, and Talisker 18 if you want smoky.

I'd go with the Glenfarclas 15 if you've never had that distillery before. I love those guys.

Thanks for all the good tips - I have finally gone with a single barrel edition of Old Pulteney (12y, 49%ABV) which is simply LUCIOUS.
