My wife has offered to buy me a bottle of whisky from my birth year (1974). I've got a budget of $400...what would you suggest? Thanks!

@broadwayblue Not sure if you're able to import whiskies into your state or not, but here's a list of different whiskies from 1974 within that price range.

Personally I'd pay a wee bit more and pick up the Glenfarclas Family Cask (I think that one might just be a wee bit out of the price range) or the Bruichladdich, but that's just me. Quite a variety of different whiskies that you can get though!

Awesome present btw!! Let us know what you pick up!

I haven't had the pleasure of a taste myself yet, but the late great immortal @whiskyshiba always used to swear by the 1974 Glenfarclas Family Casks also. That would be plenty good enough for me. Prices may have crept up in the last 18 months for it, though.

Warm greetings to BEuigeman upon remembering his dad!

@SquidgyAsh, Yes, I can import...so that's an option. You mentioned Bruichladdich but I don't see that in your links. Did I miss it? Thanks for all the suggestions.

@broadwayblue hmmm you're correct that link isn't in there and I'm having trouble tracking it down. I think I might have meant the Bunnahabhain, but I'll see if I can find it again. I swear I saw one in their somewhere.....

As for importing....Just imagine me with a giant grin my grin :D The world is at your feet then!
