Hi folks, I'm going to London next 15th october and I will stay there five days...are there places related to whisky I must absolutely see? The only spot I've planned so far is the whisky exchange shop...I know I'm coming just after the whisky show, but please tell me there's something to see! I was also planning to go to Norfolk to visit st. George's distillery, is it worth the pain? it will cost me a whole day I presume...thanks to you all in advance!

@markjedi1 it's mouthwatering! how do you feel when you are fifteen cm from the cork of a black bowmore and you can't crack it open? :)

@lucadanna1985 I usually bring a mop. And when you ask politely (eyes devoid of eager anticipation), they sometimes allow you to hug the bottle for a minute (under supervision), free of charge.

In addition to what Jean-Luc recommended, I'd suggest Salt Bar (www.saltbar.com) for a great range of whisky in a slightly more modern setting, +1 for Albannach, and The Britannia down near Borough Market has a really good & reasonably priced range (qype.co.uk/place/…) although last time I was there the barmen were of little to no use, but it's a good place to try some whisky if you know what you're looking for.

Another good shop to pop by is The Vintage House on Old Compton Street - have a look out in the back room: loads of great bottlings.
