Bottle at Proof, Tallahassee, FL.

Nose is rich coconut dessert, butter pecan pie.

Taste is similar to Bulliet Rye with chocolate and banana split dessert.

Palate is fluffy, rich, soft.

Yum.

How old is this Willett Rye? And the ABV?

Yep, if it tasted like Bulleit, you almost certainly got a bottle of LDI distillate. Willett has been circulating obviously LDI Rye which is 3 years old.

Not sure, it was just on the menu as Willet's Rye with no age...abv I didn't jot down.

The reason I ask is that there are a lot of Willett Ryes in various ages and various ABVs. Barrel number is the best identifier, so that we know which whiskey it is that we are talking about. Without barrel number, age and ABV are the best ways to reference the actual whiskey under discussion. Without barrel number, or age and ABV, someone will have no idea whether your review relates to the whiskey they may be considering buying or sampling.

That's true, but usually in a database the Scotch/Bourbon should be in there, and you rate it. Not the other way around where you have to add everything custom and it still does not show up in the database while searching.

So in effect, no one can even see this review if they search Willet Rye, so for now it is more of a log of my own reviews rather than for someone else.

Good point @GT2. I often wish to have the whisky-database of whiskybase.com at connosr :)
