Willett "Chocolato" is one of the Even Kulsveen selected Single Barrel bourbons, marketed by his company Kentucky Bourbon Distillers,Ltd. "Chocolato" is 18 years old and bottled at 142.3 proof/71.15% ABV.

Nose: strong sweet maple with a fine blending together of vanilla, orange, and alcohol. There is chocolate subtly in the background. The alcohol astringency gives a pleasant balance to the maple flavour. Delicious!

Taste: at first, maple and alcohol greet the palate a little brusquely, then, within a few seconds, the mouth does indeed fill with the taste of chocolate, together with maple. This tastes like a 71.15% ABV version of a very good maple-flavoured chocolate candy

Finish: the finish is very long with all of the flavours remaining

Balance: this one gives a very nice balance of sweet maple and alcohol astringency. Long new-oak aging sometimes brings out some rather unusual flavours, as we see here. This makes quite an enjoyable dram
