I often fantasize about opening a little whisky shop, each time I pass an empty retail unit I weigh-up its suitability and plan the possible layouts in my mind.
For me, right now, it's just a fantasy though. Running a small retail business is hard work and the setup costs are high; rent, stock, staffing etc etc... I can't help but feel that it's not the right time (for me) in the current economic climate. Perhaps a few years down the line.
New York though - the place where dreams are made - anything is possible, right?

Hey LeFrog (great name) Yeah I am full time musician sick of being on tour all the time. Really love the Scotch community and want to open a SPECIALTY store. More of a lifestyle shop thank just a few bottles of supernova. I am sure its a TON of work but I like that challenge. Check out some photos here I will be hanging if the shop ever gets on its feet.

I am thinking of opening a specialty Scotch shop in Brooklyn NY also selling personal photography and Pipe tobacco. Play chill tunes have some nice leather chairs and have a great vibe for customers. Anyone have any experience with opening a shop?
