Ballechin Burgundy Matured

This was an expensive bottle, so I had high expectations. The initial nose is overwhelming. The whole room smelled of smoked peat. The first taste likewise was overwhelmed by smoke. After a few sips though, it mellowed (or I got used to it) and other flavors came out. It is very drinkable as long as you aren't turned off by the smoke. In the end, a very good scotch.
