Fourteen months ago I probably could (and would) have purchased 10 bottles of Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX for $ 59.35 each. Didn't know how much I liked it until there was only a bottle or two left at that price. I did not make that mistake this year with the Artein.

When you find a good one, it is smart to stock up, Robert!
I have acquired a few bottles of PX here and there over the last year, but not at the super low price available to me a year ago.

@Victor, but as they say, still a deal at twice the price :) -- for some. :)

@Smokehead Wow, I can see how that would keep you up! Aberlour A'bunadh is nearly topping my list to buy, and I'm definitely making it my first cask strength... Smokehead, you poor sod, you

A pallet of HP18 turned up at my local Tesco couple of years back, £40 a bottle and no other stores had it. Was convinced it was a bad batch they were trying to shift. Still get the thought every time I have one that it might have been a great deal.

Hey mate. Was that the 24hr jaw dropper QC sale on whiskyandmore? That sold out pretty quickly. I snapped up a bottle lickitysplit the first time they had it on sale. Great dram. They have dropped their regular price it I think. Cheers.

Laphroaig 15 for $70 per bottle at a small local liquor store two years after it was discontinued! Had I realized I would have got atleast two or three!

I remember the last batch of Ardbeg 17 year old I saw come out in 2004. I was visiting my parents in Nashville, TN. The local store had a shelf full for $65 each. At the time I knew it was in short supply. I remember thinking that I should buy a case and store it in my parent's basement for future use. Sadly, I didn't. I had 3 sample bottles after all (fool). I kicked myself as I left Nashville. Now all these years later I cry at the thought.
At that same store they had a bottle of Ardbeg Provenance for $500. It seemed crazy expensive to me. All these years later what I wouldn't give to have bought that bottle . . .

@sepsism Yeah, thats the one! My friend offered to buy me a bottle as a belated birthday present, but when he got to his debit card the Laphroaig was sold out :(
Good one on buying yourself a bottle though. It'll get you through the next earthquake

Ahhh bummer, I think it had gone by about 9am! It'll be back (although looks like they have completely sold out now as can't find it on their site). They have quite a few new bottles up at the moment, I'm especially keen on the Lagavulin 12 year old cask strength, Ardbeg Uigeadail and Corryvreckan. Must-buys when (if) they hit the weekly specials. Now all they need is the Laphroaig cask strength.

Forgot to mention, fairly resistant to quakes now! But any excuse to tuck into a few scotches for sure :)

Ardmore Traditional Cask for 29$ in Florida. Should have bought a case of the juice.

I just missed out on a 24hr deal on Laphroaig Quarter Cask for NZ$60 because I didnt have the money (and it sold out rapidly). This is my most dissapointing whisky moment I've had to/chosen to pass up.
What greatndeals have you regretted not taking advantage of?
