@Robert99 I would contact the distilleries in advance and ask what they have. I would also ask about the opportunities to "Bottle your own", because that could be a real treat.

@Robert99 Clynlish had a couple of distillery only bottles on the counter for sampling. They were both cask strength and excellent. I should have bought one but already was way over the Canada Customs limit.
My cousin had a Glenmo 15 CS that he bottled at the distillery after the tour and it was better than any Glenmo I've ever had. You can bottle your own Springbank at Cadenhead's in Campbeltown, but they told me they were not allowed to offer tastings, so I passed. I think the distillery may now have a visitor centre.

@Robert99 I've not done it myself but everything I've read has made the 'Living Cask" from the Cadenhead shop near the top of my list (if I was over there).

Great topic. I can't speak for Scottish distilleries but last time I visited Yoichi it had 4 exclusive bottlings all at CS. I appreciate the variety there.

@RianC it looks so good. I love the idea and every who has had one (that I've read about) has said it's fantastic - but of course, like peoples own solera bottles, it changes and evolves.

@RianC would love to get my hands on a bottle of that.
I'd have to keep my credit card at home if I visited!

@BlueNote I love Clynelish. That would be fantastic to get a CS exclusivity from them. Thanks! I will let you know if I am able to squeeze it in my vacation ( I have to keep the wife happy, you know...)

@nooch was telling me that many distilleries have a poor choice of exclusivities on the premises. Knowing which ones have the best shop could helped me make my choice. I will probably visit Islay and the Highland and would like to grab a few bottles unavailable in Canada. Getting a gem available only at the distillery is the dream although I will favor the taste over the exclusivity.
