Mine are definitely the Amrut Fusion and the Clynelish 12yo 1996 by Malts of Scotland (sherry cask). I must say the Amrut keeps on growing on me. The Clynelish on the other hand was a direct hit from the moment I opened it!

I only started with this whisky passion in 2009 after the World Record Whisky Tasting in Ghent (www.worldrecordwhiskytasting.be)

The best whiskies I bought in 2009 where the Auchtentoshan Three Wood, the Laphroaig Quarter Cask and the Glenkinchie Distillers Edition !

I'm a novice myself and have only tasted about 50 drams so far (check my cabinet, still a lot of work ahead of me), but my number 1 would have to be Auchentoshan 12 Year Old and my number 2 is a close contest between Bushmills 1608 and Bushmills 16 Year Old.

I think my best whisky buy in 2009, hands down, is the Benromach 10yr. The price was right and man, what a cracking dram! There will always be some Benro10yr on my shelf.

@paddockjudge Cheers, buddy. Ten years on, I'm close to 5000 drams tasted. As long as both wallet and liver continue to pull their weight, I plan to keep going!

Phew. For a moment there, I thought there had been a rip in the space-time continuum!
