This Blairmhor is a blend of no less than 20 single malts, with the emphasis on Speyside. So no grain whisky was used in this bottled, hence it is called a Blended Malt.
The nose is rather silent. Some vanilla, citrus fruit, candy story and malt. But unfortunately there is also a chemical sweetness that puts me off. Some citrus peel tries to save the day, but does not succeed.
The arrival is very soft, but not good at all. Rather foul. Sorry, while this is slightly peppery, the chemical sweetness soon takes over completely. A hint of peat? Okay, I can live with that. But apart from that only honey and sweet malt. Despite the low ABV, it has quite a bite. Well… this is not very good.
The finish is somewhat long, unfortunately, and also very astringent.
One to forget quickly. Jikes!
@markjedi1 I enjoyed your recent blend reviews. I tried this dram recently. I didn't get any chemical notes. But I would agree it's a rather shallow wade in the taste department!
