Blending Whisky At Home

I generally end up with near empty bottles of various expressions and rather than drink them off I like to experiment with blending some together.

In the past my most successful blend has been the Laphroaig QC with the Lagavulin 16.

Any suggestions on tried and tested home blends using popular expressions?

Thanks @Victor - just saw your discussion forum. Some interesting vattings in there. Was thinking of hosting an evening with nothing but home vattings!
