This Bunna comes with no age statement. There is not a lot of information to be found for this Provenance bottling. The only thing the label states is that it is a small batch edition and that it is young and feisty. So young stuff, eh? That does not have to be a bad thing. Feisty? Let us find out. It is very pale.

Bull’s eye from the first whiff. Smoked fish, wet earth, some manure. May not sound good, but on a dirty Bunna it is becoming. It is mildly sour like baby puke. Yes, another aroma that looks misplaced in a tasting note, but when you smell this whisky, I am sure you will agree with me. And again: it works. Some sauerkraut and baking butter and the picture is complete. Great nose.

The arrival is somewhat soft, almost watery. Pity. But the peat and the sweet fruit make up for it. Mostly white fruit. Apples, pears and a hint of banana. Loads of citrus in the second sip. The whole is wrapped in a smoky blanket that I can truly appreciate. Yes, this is feisty indeed.

The finish is fairly long, smoky and sweet.

This is a good Bunna, no two ways about it.
