I have tried quite a few Caperdonich 1972 and they are all amazing. This bottling from Duncan Taylor, under their Rare Auld banner, was bottled for Belgian company The Nectar. It too is an amazing Caper.

Oh, my god! The nose is like a fruit salade, but very complex and waxy. Juicy fruit, mind you. Apricots, peach, banana, coconut, pears, oranges. The cask did its work, but remains in the background. Chamomile, fresh mint and a bit of vanilla. Outstanding!

It is rough on the palate. A lot spicier than on the nose too. Apricots and fresh figs now. The mint returns. The tannins are much louder, but the whole remains perfectly balanced. Oranges rear their heads. Very, very nice!

The finish is long and warm, all on bitter oranges.

With twenty Capers under the belt, I think I am entitled to an opinion. So trust me when I say that this is one mighty Caperdonich.
