Which whisky (whiskies) did you get for Christmas? I got a Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix, a Bowmore 16 y.o. Wine Cask, a Springbank 14 y.o. Cask Strength and a Kilchoman Inaugural 100% Islay as gifts. I am very pleased with my Christmas earnings, how about you?

My lovely wife gave a bottle of Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban as well as a gift pack of Bruichladdich Organic. I also received a copy of whisky bible 2012 and a couple of glencairn glasses that are still in transit. All in all a very good Christmas.

I received a bottle of Oban 14 from my brother. My girlfriend gave me the Compass Box sample set.

Al I have to do now is find some way of trading the Oban 14 for something I like.

Just before Christmas, my wife and I got each other gift sets of whisky. I got her a Glennfiddich 12 set with a Glencairn glass, and she got me The Glenlivet 12 set, with two Glenlivet/Glenciarn tumblers.

For Christmas, among the gifts from my immediate family, there was a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask from my wife and daughter.

I also bought two bottles of Bourbon Whiskey for two friends that are American Whiskey fans. One got a bottle of Buffalo Trace, and the other got a special bottling of Maker's Mark with the trademark wax seal layered in red and white! The bottling was to commemorate the 2011 Major League Baseball Championship team the St. Louis Cardinals, whose team colors are red and white.

Early gifts included Snow Phoenix from @WhiskyJoe, and Rittenhouse 100 BiB from a good friend.

My wonderful wife suprised me with the bottle that was mentioned in a 'Christmas wishlist' discussion thread on this site, Glenfarclas 15! It is truly 'Christmas cake in a bottle'...in particular, while having a dram with my dad (who, despite not normally drinking whisky neat, absolutely loved the stuff!), I noticed a strong note of cloves and cinnamon on the 'afterfinish' about five minutes...very cool, and definitely a homerun bottle!

My dad and his wife also suprised me with a bottle of Redbreast 12, and the book '99 Drams of Whiskey' by Kate Hopkins. It looks like it will be a great read, especially with a glass of whisky by my side!

My mom also jumped in with 'The World Atlas of Whisky' by Dave Broom. I've been wanting this one ever since @HP12 brought my attention to it. A wonderful whisky Christmas all-in-all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody here on Connosr!

Based on my overflowing cabinet my family found it best NOT to add anything to my collection. A little disappointing but can't say I blame them. Now it's time to drink the stuff.

My wife really spoiled me this year; Bruichladdich PC 6, Craiggellachie 9 year (A.D. Rattray bottler), Bowmore 1992 - 16 year Bordeaux wine cask, Lagavulin 1995 Distillers Edition and Glen Scotia 19 year (A.D. Rattray bottler). Another family member gave me a bottle of Johnnie Walker Green Label. It was a very special Christmas indeed. Hope everyone had a great holiday season!

Bought myself a Christmas present: my first bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail. I have been putting it off for a while, because it is so ourtrageously expensive here in Vancouver BC Canada: at the BCLCB (Gov't Liquor Store): $134.00, at the local private Liberty Wines down the road $160.00!!!!! I got mine a Legacy Liquor Store, a private liquor store on the site which housed the athletes for 2010 Winter Olympics. It is $150.00, but they have a points program: when you spend $500. you get $25 off next purchase. And a fabulous store. Anyway, I have heard so much about the Uigeadail. I love the Ardbeg 10, but not as much as Laphroaig QC. So I have the Ardbeg 10 at my local pub, which doesn't have Laphroaig QC, and have the QC at home. We shall see how the Uigeadail is. I gave the Laphroaig QC at score of 100, because so far I have not found a better Scotch Whisky, and the balance.... plus, it is about $80.00 here, which I don't consider excessive, especially for the quality. Even if I end up liking the Uigeadail better than Laphroaig QC, I would not give it 100% simply because of the price. I am saving it for New Years. How's that for reviewing a whisky that I have not yet tasted? Happy New Year!!!

@bwmccoy - yes, I think we got the same bottle. It is unusually packed for a Bowmore bottle. Not in a tube. I am eager to try this one, but first I have to finish some bottles before opening another one.

@Victor I've got quite a few of them at home still. I've got a couple of batches ranging from 17 to, now, 36. Up until Christmas the most recent batch I had was a 34. I love the flavor of it neat, but I'll be honest, that high alcohol content makes me use some water!
